ALEXANDERSSON
MIKAEL
Alexandersson Mikael, mollyhawk, was
born in Lemland, Åland, on 18.11.1906 and died in 1969.
He made his first voyage in May 1923 in
the barque PROMPT,
Master Erik Nils Eriksson.
Mikael Alexandersson obtained his
Master Mariner's certificat in Mariehamn in 1932.
He rounded Cape Horn twice during his period of service in sailing-ships, in the PROMPT.
Mikael Andersson served as Chief Mate
of the barque PROMPT for 15 months, as 2nd Mate of the s s CHARTERHAGE for 17 months and as Chief Mate of the s s THORNBURY for 27 months.
He then served as Master of the s s THORNBURY, s s RIGEL, s s TAURI, m
v GERD, m v SVANEN and m v MAJ for a total of 6 years 7 months.
He served in ships under the Swedish flag
for 6 years, and then again in ships under the Finnish flag, as Master of the
s s SANDÖ for 24 months and as Chief Mate of the s s BORE
VII for 14 months.
He then served as Chief Mate of the Swedish m v ROYAL PULP
as from 22.11.1957 .
