HUSELL RUNAR

 

 

Husell Runar, Mollyhawk, was born in Lövö, Värdö, Åland, on 4.2. 1919 and died in Mariehamn on 1.11.1968.

He served in the following sailing-ships :

- 4-masted barque PONAPE 1934-35

- Barque WINTERHUDE 1935-36

- 4- masted barque LAWHILL 1936-1936.

Runar Husell rounded Cape Horn twice, as an Able Seaman in the WINTERHUDE in 1935 and as an Able Seaman in the LAWHILL in 1936.

He obtained his Master Mariner's certificate in Mariehamn in 1945.

Runar Husell then served as 2nd and 1st Mate in various steamships and Acting Master of the m v BERGÖ and s s KUNGSÖ.
