JANSSON
KARL
Jansson Karl, Emilius, Mollyhawk, was
born in Houtskär, Finland, on 11.10. 1913.
He made his first voyage in 1929, in the
Finnish schooner ALF.
He subsequently served in the 4- masted
barque ARCHIBALD RUSSELL for a period of two years.
Karl Jansson rounded Cape Horn twice
eastwards in the ARCHIBALD RUSSELL in 1931 and 1932.
He obtained his Master Mariner's certificate
in Mariehamn in 1939.
Karl Jansson then served in the schooner WELLAMO,
and as Chief Mate of the schooner MAJ and schooner BALTIC, and as 2nd Mate of
the s s SNAB.
He served as Chief Mate in the s s OSCAR MIDLING,
s s DIANA, s s MARITA, and s s ELLEN.
He was also Master of the s s MARITA, s s
ANTON, s s INGER and s s AURA.
