KRONSTRÖM BÖRJE

 

 

Kronström Börje K., Mollyhawk, was born in Kimito, Finland, on 25.1.1903 and died on 22.1.1988.

He rounded Cape Horn in the 4- masted barque LAWHILL westwards in 1925 and eastwards in 1926.

He obtained his Master Mariner's certificate in Äbo / Turku in 1930.

Börje Kronström served as Mate in ships belonging to the Finnish Steamship Company, including the s s REGULUS, s s VEGA, s s VIRGO s s ORION, s s WAPPU and s s HEKTOS.

Börje Kronström held the post of Harbour Master in Skuru, Finland, for several years.

He resumed his career at sea in 1950 and served in the Finnish Steamship Company as Chief Mate and Acting Master.

From 1957 he was Master of the s s BJARMIA, s s NAJADEN, s s WAPPU, m v VESTA, m v HEBE and other ships.
