MICKELSON
NILS
Mickelson Nils Ejnar, Mollyhawk, was born
in Pargas, Finland, on 23.7.1911 and died in February 1997.
He made his first voyage in 1929 in the s
s BROMARSUND, and subsequently served in the s v PAMIR and s v ARCHIBALD RUSSELL.
He rounded Cape Horn twice eastwards :
- in the 4- masted barque PAMIR in 1935 and
- in the 4- masted barque ARCHIBALD RUSSELL
in 1936.
Ejnar Mickelson obtained his Master
Mariner's certificate in Mariehamnn 1941, and his Swedish Baltic skipper's examination
in Stockholm in 1961.
He was 2nd and Chief Mate of the s s VALMA,
Chief Mate and Master of the s s AXEL, Master of the s s DORA, Chief Mate of
the m v KRONOBORG, 2nd and Chief Mate of the s s BRAGE, s s FINN, s s FIDRA, s
s LOKE, and s s MARONIA, Chief Mate of the s s ALDEBARAN, s s CONTELLE and s s BORE
VI, and Master of the s s SVANBORG.
