NORDKVIST ANDERS

 

 

Nordkvist Anders, Eliel, Mollyhawk, was born in Saltvik, Åland, on 12.3.1902 and died in Mariehamn on 11.8.1975.

He obtained his Master Mariner's certificate in Mariehamn in 1930.

Anders Nordkvist rounded Cape Horn four times, eastwards :

- in 1923 in the full-rigged ship PARCHIM,

- in 1927and 1929 in the 4- masted barque OLIVEBABNK the second time as 2nd Mate, and in 1932 as Chief Mate of the 3- masted barque WINTERHUDE.

 

Anders Nordkvist served as Chief Mate of the s s CISIL, m t JOSEPHINA THORDE N, s s HERMES, s s FROSTIK s s SAVONIA, s s KARIN THORDEN and s s HERA.

He was Master of the s s TORA from 1955 to 1956 and was also Master of the s s HILA.
