NORDMAN KARL

 

 

Nordman Karl, Henrik, Mollyhawk, was born in Lovisa, Finland, on 2.3.1914 and died in 1973.

He made his first voyage in 1930 in the Finnish s s NINA.

Karl Nordman served as Deck Hand in the full-rigged ship GRACE HARWAR from 1932 to 1934, Master Captain Gunnar Boman.

He rounded Cape Horn twice during that period, on voyages from Australia to England.

Karl Norman obtained his Master Mariner's certificate in Äbo /Turku in 1944.

He served as 2nd and Chief Mate in ships belonging to the Ab R. Nordström & Co Oy and after 1947 as Master of the s s RAGUNDA,s s IMMO RAGNAR, s s BRITA, s s RAIMO RAGNAR, m v ZENITA, s s NINA, s s KARL-ERIK, s s INGEROIS, s s MYLLYKOSKI and s s MARIA.
