SUCCO
SIGFRID
Succo, Sigfrid, Johannes, Mollyhawck, was
born in Helsinki/ Helsingfors on 16 March 1906 and died in Saltvik, Åland, on
29 July 1976.
He made his first voyage in 1923 in the 3-masted
barque WOODBURN, commanded by M. Nordberg.
He then sailed in the 4-masted barque POMMERN
and the Belgian s s KÖNIGIN ELISABETH.
He obtained his Master Mariner's
certificate in Turku / Äbo in 1935.
Sigfrid Succo then served as 2nd Mate in
the barquentine OSTROBOTHNIA and as Mate in the 3-m barquentine WINETA.
He subsequently served as Mate in various
steamships and as Master of the s s WIRTA, and s s ARANDA.
He also worked in marine surveys and held
a post in the Finnish Board of Navigation.
