TALLQUIST JOHN

 

Tallquist John Tobias, Mollyhawk, was born in Mariehamn on 2.11.1907 and died there on 14.11.1991.

He made his first voyage in 1924 in the Finnish barque THEKLA.

He obtained his Master Mariner's certificate in Mariehamn in 1932.

John Tallquist rounded Cape Horn twice, in the 4- masted barque VIKING in 1931 and in the barque WINTERHUDE in 1933.

John Tallquist served as Mate in the barque PLUS, the schooner LINDEN, the VIKING, the WINTERHUDE and the steamer PLUTO.

From 1936 he served as Master in ships belonging to the Abraham Company and Paulin Company:

He was Master of the s s DAGNY, s s HELNY, s s SIGNE, s s IMATRA, s s BARÖSUND, s s MODESTA, m v J.W.PAULIN, s s NAGU, and s s NIDARHOLM.
